What a Week!

Hip Hop, Earth Day, Poetry Project, Medieval ABC project....Oh My!!!

The boys and girls in Room 102 have been very busy, whether it's learning the steps to our new Hip Hop dance, writing creative poems, preparing for Earth Day or beginning their Medieval project, it's a busy, busy time for all.

We have enjoyed two dance classes so far with our dance instructor Miss. Monique. We are excited about our next three classes over the coming weeks. Keep up the good job everyone!

April is Poetry Month, so the boys and girls have really been immersed in reading, writing and responding to a variety of poetry. They have read poems by such greats as Maya Angelou and Langston Hughes. Their personal poetry project is coming along nicely and is due next Friday. Each student will have their poetry bound in a book format to take home and share.

This Earth Day, the girls and boys will take a walk down to SunRow park and clean up the area. We will have a short assembly highlighting the significance of Earth Day. The boys and girls have a good grasp of the importance as we have studied at length Habitats and the influence of Humans on the Earth.

One of the Medieval Projects we have just started is an ABC Medieval book, the students are each creating an ABC book based on the theme of Medieval Times.

Please check out the side bar to the right, I have just added the musical notes for a few songs the class has been working on for the recorder.

A heads up, we will be having a FRACTIONS AND DECIMALS TEST ON MONDAY APRIL 26th
